Human Resources and Physiognomy
Any business – no matter how big or small – wants to attract the most qualified employees and match them to jobs for which they are best suited. This can be a very difficult task and the manager or HR person has a responsibility towards the company to perform this task to the best of his / her abilities.
Many applicants are armed with an impressive CV and put on their best outfit and smile to convince the potential employer that he /she is the right candidate for the job. But how can you tell? How often did you think that you have appointed the perfect person just to realize after a few months that it was a huge mistake?
Physiognomy is a very powerful tool to use during this process. Every position needs a certain type of person to perform the job to its fullest potential. Here is a few examples of key personality traits to look at for specific jobs…
Receptionist
A receptionist should show sensitivity towards people. You would preferably like to see curved eyebrows (shows a sensitivity towards people’s feelings) and a round chin bottom (decisions are based on what is best for people).
Book keeperTo keep record of a company’s books requires a logical thinker who is able to perform tasks in a chronological order. A person with a straight forehead and straight eyebrows prefers to keep to the facts and ‘follow the steps’ in a specific order.
Sales personWhen appointing a representative for your company, you need someone with great communication skills and a talent of persuasion. The most important feature to look for is a dominant bottom lip. This person will be able to sell ice to an Eskimo. However, if the person has a dominant upper lip, he will only be able to sell your product or service when he truly believes in it.
Obviously, there are much more on a face to take into consideration, but being able to recognise certain talents could save time and money finding the right person for the job.
